Mrs. Miriam Dolores Taylor Humphries, of Putney, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2026, at Wynfield Park Nursing Facility after a courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 4, in the chapel of Hall & Hall Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Hall officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service. Following the funeral, entombment will follow in the Crown Hill Mausoleum.

Born on February 18, 1942, in Pelham, Georgia, she was the daughter of James Thomas (J.T.) Taylor and Ethel Cooper Taylor.

Miriam attended Albany High School and Pelham High School, graduating from there in 1960. She was a devoted homemaker for many years before beginning a career with Harvey’s Supermarket, A&A Lock, and later the Albany Housing Authority.

A faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church, Miriam enjoyed singing with friends and in the church choir. She taught numerous church classes and deeply loved her church family. She found great joy in reading and studying the Bible, collecting cookbooks, and preparing meals for her family. She was known for arriving at family gatherings with unique and delicious dishes to share.

Miriam's life was defined by her love for her family and her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She shared His love with others whenever she had the opportunity. She wanted to "Make Heaven crowded."

She is survived by her children, Lisa (Tim) Carter of Leesburg, Cindy (Scott) Pope-Hundertmark of Norwood, NC, and Paul Humphries of Putney; her grandchildren, Landon (Ashley) Carter and Devan (Lindsey) Pope; her great-grandchildren, Zeke James Carter, Stella Jane Carter, and Jaxx Taylor Carter; and her siblings, Vivian Thomas, Sara (Earl) West, and Coley (Betty) Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Green Lee (G.L.) Humphries, and her brother, Joe Wesley Taylor.
