Mary Liza Parker

September 5, 1953 — August 21, 2025

Worth County

Mary Parker, affectionately known to everyone as “Nanny,” a devoted wife, loving caregiver, and cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

Mary was born on September 5, 1953, to the late Thelma Cloud and Henry Worlds. On July 30, 1966, she married the love of her life, Charles Parker, with whom she shared a lifelong bond filled with love and devotion. Charles remains to cherish her memory. Mary was the last surviving sister of Lydia Bryant, Juanita Hogge, Maxine Norris, Vera Moll, and Paulette Norris-Hembree.

Though she did not have children of her own, Mary’s heart and home were always open. She lovingly raised and cared for many children throughout her life, especially her sister’s children: Angela Parker-Robinson, Laura Parker-Carroll, and Robert Parker. Mary had a special and unbreakable bond with her niece, Angela Parker-Robinson, dedicating much of her life to raising her with the deepest love and devotion. She also helped raise Angela’s children — Michael Sindy, Jordan Parker, Keely Barron, and Ashlyn Robinson — treating them as if they were her very own grandchildren. In addition, Mary shared a close relationship with her great-nephew, Marcus Rhodes, who brought her much joy.

To all who knew her, Mary was more than just family — she was “Nanny.” She carried that title with honor, love, and pride, taking it to another level by pouring her heart into everyone she cared for. Her home, her heart, and her spirit were always a place of comfort, wisdom, and unconditional love.

Mary was the kind of person who would help anyone in need and never talked down on anyone. She believed in uplifting others and treating everyone with dignity, no matter their circumstances. Her humility, compassion, and open-hearted nature earned her the love and respect of all who crossed her path.

Mary will be remembered for her beautiful soul, her selflessness, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. She had a spirit that lifted those around her and left an impression of warmth and compassion. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the love she gave, and the family and friends who will forever carry her in their hearts. May she rest in eternal peace.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Paul Pritchard, Rev. Eron White and Rev. Bryan Miller will officiate. Following the service she will be laid to rest in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Sylvester.
