Maria Irmgard Bieberich Smith

Mrs. Maria Irmgard Bieberich Smith, 94, of Albany, peacefully passed on Monday night, December 29, 2025.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2026, in the chapel of Hall & Hall Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery, in Pelham.

Born on February 16, 1931, in Bamberg, Germany, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Weiss Bieberich. She was a loving and devoted homemaker to her family and loved her family more than anything. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening in her rose beds, and working with ceramics. She was a faithful member of Mercedes Baptist Church of Albany for many years where her beloved husband served as a deacon.

In addition to her parents Irmgard was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie W. Smith; daughter, Marcia Smith Powers; son-in-law, Jack Webb; and her great-grandson, Jakob Rehberg.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Edith Webb of Albany, Michael Smith and Jan of Bullock, NC, Andrew Smith and Michele of Dothan, AL, and David Smith and Mitzi of Lyerly, GA; son-in-law, Glenn Powers of Woodstock; her brother, Franz Bieberich of Germany; 10 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.
