Lovella “Becky” Terry passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, January 23, 2020 to join her husband, Don Terry, after they were separated by his death in April 2000. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour and a half prior to the service, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00p.m. At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, Mrs. Terry will be laid to rest beside her husband at Andersonville National Cemetery. Born to loving parents, Albert Marion Lambert and Ada Elizabeth Eaves Lambert in Centre, Alabama on May 27, 1930, she spent her childhood in Centre and Rome, Georgia with a happy family of seven siblings. She loved working for Southern Bell Telephone Company in Atlanta from 1949-1951. As her memory faded and she remembered little from her past or present, when asked the address of the phone company, she rarely forgot and would say, “51 Ivy Street”. Donald Weyman Terry became her husband on May 15, 1951. She called him her soulmate. They raised their family while moving frequently due to his career in the Marine Corps. In their first seventeen years of marriage, they lived in six states, ten towns and moved from one place to another fifteen times until his retirement in 1968. In 1979, they made their last move to their pecan farm where the grandchildren loved to play kickball in the grove with their cousins, ride on the golf cart and ride in the “Kiddie Cart” pulled by Granddad with his tractor. She is survived by her children, Debbie Stephens of Watkinsville, Ga.; Donna Medders (Brad) of Poulan, Ga.; Steve Terry (Sara) of Sylvester, Ga. and Lynn Montgerard (Lance) of Albany; her sister Shirley Patterson of Rome, Ga.; grandchildren Tammy Belflower (Kevin); Cory Stephens (Lindsay); Jill Stephens; Dustin Kosar (Lindsay); Lyndsey Tison (Don); Devin Stephens (Becky); Matthew Kosar; Sarah Mitchell (Paul); April Terry; Crystal Terry; Lane Johnson (Veronica)and Don Terry; twenty-two great-grandchildren, many beloved nieces and nephews, and devoted caregiver Rhonda Hart. A friend summed up her life by saying, “Becky had the most caring, loving and generous heart of anyone I ever knew.” Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons, Cory Stephens, Dustin Kosar, Devin Stephens, Matthew Kosar, Lane Johnson, Don Terry and Ross Belflower. In lieu of flowers, our family asks that you please donate to the Fisher House, a foundation that serves military spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members. One of Becky’s grandson’s and his family have been personally served by this organization. The services of Fisher House brought much joy to some of her great grandchildren at a difficult time in their lives.
