Mrs. Joan Cooper Berry, 88, of Warner Robins and formerly of Albany, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, March 30, 2023.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Hilton Gillespie, Rev. Steve Hood, and Rev. Eugene Wiseman will officiate with interment to follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends one hour before the funeral.
Born March 7, 1935, in Barbourville, KY, Mrs. Berry was the daughter of the late General and Amanda Cooper. She graduated from High School in 1953 and moved to Albany, GA in 1975. She retired from the Marine Corp Logistics Base of Albany in 2003 after 33 years of dedicated service as an accounting technician. She was a faithful member of Albany First Church of the Nazarene where she held many positions through the years including, Missionary President for 30 years. Missions were very dear to her heart. She also taught Sunday school and even kept the church clean for several years.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles “Chuck” Berry; brothers, Dallas and Joe, grandchild, Duane Alan Berry; and great-grandchild, Gavin Thompson.
Survivors include her children, Keith Berry and Nancy of Warner Robins and Cheryl Lynn Berry Willoughby of Albany; 5 grandchildren, Cheryl Marie and her husband, Scott, Jenna Breanne and her husband, Brentten, Charles Alan, Brian Keith, and Nicholas Jordan; and 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews. Other survivors include her special friends, Janiave Frazier, Zelma Crawley, and Linda Patton.
