Herbert Blanchard

Mr. Herbert Carl Blanchard, 89, of Albany, peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at his home while surrounded by his beloved family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in the chapel of Hall & Hall Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Robin Chaplin will officiate with interment to follow in Floral Memory Gardens.

Born February 5, 1937, in Worth County in the Red Rock Community, Herbert was the son of the late Dalton J. Blanchard and Addie Bailey Blanchard. He worked most of his life as a truck driver and loved traveling, especially to Florida. He enjoyed the simple things of life such as his coffee and being with his family and friends. Most of all he loved the Lord and his family. Mr. Blanchard was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church for many years where he served as a deacon and enjoyed singing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Blanchard was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Morris; his son, William Kenneth “Kenny” Blanchard; two wives, Carlene Blanchard and Barbara Jean Sawyer Blanchard; and his siblings, Austene Ladson, Louise Hatcher, Junior Blanchard, Clyde Salter, Tracey Blanchard, and Faye Taylor.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Vivian Allegood of Albany; stepdaughter, Jodi Richardson; siblings, Gail Godwin of Putney, Ray Blanchard of Lee County, Charles Blanchard of Lee County, and Trellie Stewart; 6 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and extended family.
