George Lewis Tolbert Stewart

Mr. George Lewis Tolbert Stewart, 91, of Albany, peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Columbus Hospice.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026, in the Riverside Cemetery. Military honors will be presented, and Mr. Jeff Sexton will officiate. The family will visit with friends following the service.

Born November 7, 1934, in Hapeville, GA, Mr. Stewart was the son of the late Ernest and Irma Stewart. He served two years in the Army and 27 and half years in the Marine Corps. He was very proud of his over 30 years of Military service and being able to see much of the world while doing so. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brittany Cornell; and his siblings, Juanita, Pam and Ernest Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Trellie Marie Blanchard Stewart of Albany; children, Edwin and Rhonda Stewart of Albany, Tony Stewart of Albany, Michael and Aida Stewart of Indiana, and Marie Cornell of Sylvester; grandchildren, Luke, Crystal and Hadley, Chip, Codey and Valerie, Jason, Jeremy, Sebastian and Emily, Diana and Eric, Sarah and Christy and several great-grandchildren.
