Erika Dawn Lopez

Mrs. Erika Dawn Lopez, 44, of Baconton, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Emory Midtown Hospital.

A wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 8, 2025, with visitation continuing until 8:00 p.m. at Hall & Hall Funeral Home.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2025, at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church with Rev. Raymond Levreault officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Mount Enon Cemetery in Mitchell County.

Born on November 12, 1980, in Albany, Erika was the daughter of the late John Albert Erickson and Lisa Nason Stegemiller. She worked various jobs throughout her life but was most proud to care for her family at home that she dearly loved. She enjoyed traveling to Mexico and going to the beach. She was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter in Heaven, Mia Erickson, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Zabel Lopez; bonus mom that she dearly loved, Tonya Erickson of Albany; children, Shane Erickson of Albany, Jessica Rojas, Jonathan Lopez, and Bryan Lopez all of Baconton; sister, Kala Tzun of Albany; and brother, Zackariah Erickson of Albany, step-father, Gene Stegemiller; step sisters, Christina Lopez of North Carolina and Kimberly Stegemiller of Cordele; several sister’s in law, and many nieces and nephews.
