Mr. Dick Dean Dyer, 84, of Albany, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Willson Hospice House.
Services honoring his life will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2025, in the chapel of Hall & Hall Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Gerry Doore and Rev. Roger Morey will officiate, with military honors being provided by the American Legion Post 30 of Albany.
Born on January 18, 1941, in Gothenburg, Nebraska, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ethel Margaret Fish Dyer. He faithfully served his country and retired with 20 years of service from the United States Air Force where he received numerous metals. He then worked for 20 years for the Lake Rim Fire Department in Fayetteville North Carolina where he retired as Fire Chief. He greatly enjoyed camping and was a member of the Good Sam Camping Club number 8. He was a faithful member of Mercedes Baptist Church and loved The Lord and his family most of all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Annette; sisters, Phyllis, Dorothy, Marjorie, and Norma; and his brothers, Daryl, and Donnie.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Sandra Laramore Dyer of Albany; children, Dwain Weaver, Brian Sartain, and Rhonda Coalson of Mitchell County; brother, Robert Dyer of Kearney, NE; sisters, Marilyn Johnson of Denton, TX, Carol Jena Wood of Eagle Grove IA, and Judy Young of Hasting, NE; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
