Devarl "Be Bop" David Brooks

Mr. Devarl “Be Bop” David Brooks, 67, of Griffin, GA, passed away on January 24, 2022 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, January 29, 2022, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Gregory Smith will officiate. Born September 9, 1954 to the late Clifford Edward and Rosetta Louise Brooks, Mr. David spent his days fishing, watching football, and capturing life’s moments with his camera. Mr. Brooks was a retiree of Emory Healthcare Midtown, where he worked for 34 years. His kind and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Along with his parents, Devarl was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Pollock; two brothers, Frederick Henry Major and Lenwood Brooks. Those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Clifford Brooks (Lillie) of Griffin, GA; sisters, Christine Phillips (Perry) of Griffin, GA, Helen Gant (Ernest) of San Antonio, TX, Portia Vaughn (Lasalle) of San Antonio, TX, Carol Jones (Paul) of Albany, GA, Terri Griffin (Stanley) of Cleveland, OH; close friends, Ronnie & Kay Jowers; his pastor, Rev. Gregory Smith (First Baptist Church of Decatur), and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to extend their thanks to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Floor 4A for their extended kindness and care during this time.
