Mr. Bobby Naftrel Sanders, 86, of Albany passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hosptial.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2024, in the chapel of Hall & Hall Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest in the Andersonville National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with military honors. Rev. Chis Pollock will officiate.
Bobby was born on April 12, 1938, in Hargill, Texas to James Sanders and Bessie Boyer. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in May of 1956, serving in the Vietnam War and retired honorably as a Master Gunnery Sergeant after 28 years. His last duty station became the place that he called home near the USMC Logistics Base in Albany, GA.
He will forever be remembered as a True Blue Marine, someone who exemplifies the Marine Corps’ core values of honor, courage, and lives by the motto Semper Fidelis, “Always Faithful.”
Following his military service, he enjoyed visiting National Parks, his interests included watching John Wayne in any Western cinema, catching the Dallas Cowboys football games, and chatting about the next cruise that he would be on enjoying a chocolate Lava Cake. He had a passion for animals; always pampering his fur babies, Molly and Boots. However, nothing compared to the passion, pride, and love he had for his family. Treasured family photos can be found on every shelf in his house.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a son through marriage, Frederick Breeze.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of over 60 years, Miriam K Sanders; children, Christine Brezee of Hawaii, Earl Brezee and Elaine of Nevada, Bobby James Sanders and Mirla of California, and Wesley Scott Sanders and Jill of South Carolina; and 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Hall & Hall Funeral Home has been given the honor to serve the Sanders family.
