Betty Sue Evans

Mrs. Betty Sue Evans, 93, of Albany, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at her home while surrounded by her beloved family.

A visitation and viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Hall & Hall Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Floral Memory Gardens with Rev. Bruce English officiating.

Born October 30, 1932, in Tifton, GA, Mrs. Evans was the daughter of the late Rodge and Ruthie Denham Waldrop. She was one of nine children and was raised on a sharecropper’s farm. She worked for many years in food service as a hostess having started at Gargano’s East and then worked with Carr’s Steakhouse and Lloyd’s Steakhouse. She was the oldest living member of the Moose Lodge 1285. Mrs. Evans was always filled with love, laugher, and jokes and was known as “everyone’s grandma.” She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend she will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Eugene Evans; children, Susan McDonald, Chip Evans, and Steve Evans; granddaughter, Melissa McDonald; and all of her siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Rodney Evans and Jackie, and Marla Shirley and Scott, and Gail Prescott; 6 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
