Virginia Alderman Rowe

Mrs. Virginia Alderman Rowe, 92, of Albany, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Mrs. Rowe will be laid to rest by her beloved husband in Floral Memory Gardens.

Born on March 6, 1931, in Moultrie, GA, Mrs. Rowe was the daughter of the late Corbett Alderman and Rosa Duncan Alderman. She was a faithful longstanding member of Mercedes Baptist Church and loved God and her family more than anything. She retired from Jamison Bedding of Albany and was known by her family for her strong-willed independence, red velvet cakes, and her “green stuff.” A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors Include her son, Dewey Duane Rowe and (wife, Mel of Chesapeake, VA); daughter, Carol Sue Allen and (husband, the late Terry J. Allen) of Albany, GA; daughter-in-law, Lynn Lee; grandson, Christopher Rowe of Apalachicola, FL, granddaughter, Holly Gurr (husband, Chris Gurr) of Brunswick, GA, granddaughter, Mandy Smith (husband, Mark Smith) of Leesburg, GA, granddaughter, Traci Erickson (husband, Marty Erickson) of Leesburg, GA, grandson, Brent Rowe (wife, Gabby Rowe) of Chesapeake, VA; sister, Betty Hiner Mulford of Venice, FL; sister's -in-law, Faye Rowe, Willie Jo Bell, and Laura Anne Ackley; brother-in-law, Frank Butler; 11 great-grandchildren, Chandler, Hunter, Skylar, Trenton, Clayton, Dalton, Lilly, Ryder, Oakley, Maggie and Everett; and a host of extended family and friends who loved her dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, J.B. Rowe; son, Tommy Rowe; son-in-law, Terry Allen; sisters, Carolyn Butler, Nell Metcalf, Edna Worthy, Mary Ann Lawrence, and Barbara Gail Bundy; brother's, Wendell Alderman, and Thomas Alderman.

Hall and Hall Funeral Home was given the honor to serve the Rowe family.
