Thomas George 'Sonny' Carter

Mr. Thomas G. (Sonny) Carter, 60, of Albany, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 29, 2011 in the Chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Reverend Donnie Wright will officiate with interment at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Thomas County. Born July 4, 1951 in Barwick, GA, Mr. Carter was the son of the late Nolan G. Carter and Peggy Brice Carter Stillwell. Tommy was a member of the N.H.R.A. as well a member of the Shadetree Rod and Custom Car Club, and loved working on race cars. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was passionate about spending time with his grandchildren, who he considered his life. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Holland of Moultrie, Donna Bush (Lamar) of Albany, Christie Burger (Dallas) of Sumner; a brother, Steven Richards of Ochlocknee; two sisters, Grace Phillips (David) and Franci Crosby both of Thomasville; seven grandchildren, Trey Bush, Amber Harnevious, Ashley Harnevious, Zachery Holland, Madison Burger, Mallory Burger, and Mandy Burger. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at Hall and Hall Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
