Melvin Dwain Allen

Mr. Melvin Dwain Allen, 80, of Bismarck, AR, and formerly of Albany, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior, beginning at 10:00 A.M. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Worth County. Rev. Glen Robinson will officiate.

Born December 29, 1943, in Ty Ty, he was the son of the late Melvin and Nellie Ruth Allen. Mr. Allen proudly served our country in the United States Army and retired from Bellsouth Phone Company where he worked for 41 years. He loved the Lord dearly and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his beloved family. He was patient, gentle, kind, and loved doing for others. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Allen.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 59 years, Patricia Ann “Pat” Allen of Bismarck, AR; children, Rebecca Allen of Arkadelphia, AR and Waymond Allen and his wife Kim of Pooler, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Taylor Osteen, Alexus Osteen, Carter Allen, and McClain Allen; great-grandson, Wendell Haynes; and his siblings, Ray Allen and Royce Allen.
