Mrs. LaVerne Ard Mock, 79, of Leesburg and formerly of Albany, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 13, 2020, at the Oaks at Oakland Plantation. A private graveside funeral service will be conducted Thursday October 15, 2020, at New Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Colquitt. Born August 2, 1941 in Donalsonville, she was the daughter of the late George C. Ard and Hazel Roberts Ard. Mrs. Mock was a loving and devoted homemaker who loved God and her family more than anything. She attended Bethany Bible College and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Worth County and was previously a longtime member of Sunnyside Baptist Church in Albany. A loving mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mock was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Terrell Mock. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Cynthia Wingate (Bryan) of Albany, Bruce Mock (Bobbie) of Chattanooga, TN, Michael Mock (Vince) of Dyer, IN, and Christopher Mock (Meri) of Ashford, AL; grandchildren, Monica Parks (Donnie) of Spartanburg, SC, Matthew Wingate (Jennifer) of Auburn, AL, Amanda Wingate of Lawrenceville, GA, Kaitlyn Mock Petrozzino (Joe) of Tallahassee, FL, Dalton Mock of Norfolk VA, Haleigh Hicks and Jacob Hicks both of Chattanooga, TN; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Parks, Samuel Parks, Finley Wingate, and Wilson Wingate; sister-in-law’s, Bobbie Mock and Betty Mock; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Mock to Integrity Hospice at 2925 Ledo Rd, Albany, GA 31707.
