Dorothy Laurene (Salter) Ford

Mrs. Dorothy Laurene Ford, 90, of Albany, passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Radium Springs Baptist Church. Reverend Robin Chaplin will officiate with interment to follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Whigham, GA at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Mrs. Ford was born March 27, 1922 in Whigham, daughter of the late Lawson Salter and the late Mary Ellen Boyett. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Marine Corps Logistics Base and was a member of Radium Springs Baptist Church. She loved her church and enjoyed gardening. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. In addition to her parents her husband, Harvey Jacob Ford and son, Stephen Dewayne Ford preceded Mrs. Ford in death. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Ford Weintraub of Albany; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred, Katherine and Louise; and one brother, Tommy.
